Sandringham
Sandringham is the country house of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. The main ground floor rooms are open to the public and house collections of porcelain, jade, furniture and family portraits. There’s a glorious 60-acre garden, garden folly, Queen Mary’s summerhouse, parterre, rock, alpine gardens, water and woodland.
Holkham
Superb Palladian house and ancestral home of the Earls of Leicester. Set in acres of parkland Holkham Hall has cafes and shops and events all year round.
Hunstanton
The beach and cliffs face west giving perfect spots for viewing spectacular sunsets, it can also be more sheltered from the prevailing winds than other beaches. When the tide is out there are plenty of rock pools around the groynes.
There are two primary beach areas, the nearest to Hunstanton being mainly shingle and boulders leading into the sea, and closer to Cranmer the more expansive beach of Old Hunstanton, with plenty of sand when the tide is out.
Burnham Market
A great place for retail therapy – vintage shops, bookshops, craft fairs and delis as well as the traditional butchers, bakers and fishmongers.
Brancaster
Though this beach is less dramatic than Holkham it’s more family friendly, as the tide doesn’t go out too far. Car park charges are applicable, including for National Trust members as the car park is not owned by the National Trust, this beach is very popular and the car park get full on occasions. The toilets at Brancaster Beach are currently open 6am to 6pm and are found next to the car park. There is an accessible toilet that can be accessed by a Radar key.
