In addition to Cranmer Country Cottages’ indoor pool, tennis and games room, there are many leisure and sporting pursuits to enjoy, including sailing trips, canoe & kayak hire, fishing, golf, tennis, paddle boarding, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Explore the wilderness and wonderful natural surroundings of the Norfolk Coast on a skippered traditional sailing craft, sail around the wilderness of salt marshes, jump off and go for a wild swim or, take a picnic, visit nearby Scolthead island by ferry, you can even learn to sail.

NORFOLK WATERSPORTS

There are plenty of ways to get out on the water close to Cranmer.  Whether you have your own SUP or you wish to hire equipment there is plenty of choice.  Kyaking and paddleboarding in the quiet creeks is a great way to immerse yourself in nature and get fit at the same time, whatever your ability.  Alternatively, if you have a young family in tow you can row, canoe and kayak on the lake at nearby Holkham Hall or from Brancaster Staithe with Hunstanton Kayaks.

NORFOLK GOLF CLUBS

Norfolk has a number of top golf courses; the royal West Norfolk club at Brancaster and the Hunstanton Golf club are highly ranked amongst the top 100 18-hole layouts in Great Britain & Ireland.  The two courses are located within 7 miles of each other and within 12.4 miles of Cranmer Country Cottages.  Sheringham Golf Club is also highly rated and is located high on clifftops wedged between the North Sea cliff edge and the North Norfolk Railway. https://www.rwngc.org/

Fishing in North Norfolk

The perfect escape for a person who likes to fish. Norfolk has a variety of great angling spots for a day’s fishing. Whether you are looking for Carp fishing, sea fishing or a spot of beach fishing all are available locally.  South Creake fisheries are located within a couple of miles of Cranmer and sea fishing is available with boat charter from Wells-next-the-Sea. Beach fishing is available from Hunstanton and Cley-next-the-Sea.
