Sandringham Country Park

Sandringham country park is a great place to explore with your dog. Here you can find two nature trails, 1.5 miles and 2.5 miles, and a winding woodland path or a leisurely stroll

Blickling Estate

Blickling Estate not only has a stunning Jacobean mansion but it also has 4,600 acres of woodland parkland and farmland. It is a fabulous place to take your dog for a run around before settling down to a picnic in the grounds.

Holkham Estate

Most of Holkham town is dog friendly. Wells beach café is known for being one of the most dog-friendly places on the coast where your canine companions are welcome both outside and inside. See their website for the small section which is designated dog-fee.

Wells-next-the-Sea beach

Our closest beaches are at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham, both great beaches to visit at any time of the year.  At Wells-next-the-Sea cooling pinewoods border the coastline with a jolly array of brightly coloured beach huts, a number of which can be hired for the day.  You can take your dog of off the lead anywhere along the beach after the first 50 beach huts.  For a proper stretch of the legs you can walk along the beach to Holkham and then back through the trails in the pinewoods.  Followed by a well-earned cup of tea and a dog biscuit and beverage for your companion at the beach café.

Holkham Bay

One of the best UK beaches with miles of golden sand especially when the tide is out.

Brancaster Beach

A firm favourite with young familes as there is a shop selling ices and public conveniences close to the beach.  A wide sandy beach perfect for everyone including your four-legged friends.

Old Hunstanton Beach

A great beach, loved by local dog walkers.  After a good walk choose between the dog friendly lighthouse café close to the parking area at the top of the cliff or the Old Town café adjacent to the lifeboat station further along the beach  towards the Hunstanton golf club.

The Globe Inn Wells-next-the-Sea

A great dog-friendly pub and restaurant set in a in a leafy Georgian square just a stone’s throw bustling Wells-next-the Sea.  Take a walk out along the sea wall out along the boardwalk to the beach back through the pinewoods and then back up through the town for lunch.  They even have a special dog menu!

Dogs welcome inside and in courtyard area.  Water bowls & free dog treats at the bar.

Ancient Mariner Inn – Old Hunstanton

Plenty of outside space with stunning views of the sea. Designated dog area located inside by the open fire.

A great family and dog-friendly pub with an outside Patio area.

The Harnser – Cley

The ultimate dog-friendly bar and restaurant!  Great food and warm hospitality close to beach and marsh bank walkies on the north Norfolk coast.

The Red Lion – Stiffkey

Dogs welcome inside and outside on the patio area.  Cosy wood burning stove indoors.

Dun Cow – Salthouse

A warm welcome guaranteed. Great outside spacious seating area overlooking the marshes.

The Norfolk Coast Path & Peddars Way

Some great destinations for walkies along the coast with a number of footpaths to explore offering options for shorter walks to longer trails.  If your dog has little legs then there is the Coasthopper bus service which runs along the coast and you and your furry friend can hop on and off to discover different points of the path.  Friendly dogs are most welcome onboard their buses.

Take a boat trip to see the seals

One not to missed! Dogs are more than welcome on the seal trip boats that head out to the Blakeney Point area.  A great memorable trip for the whole family, especially in November and December, when the seal pups are around.

Visit a local festival or a Norfolk County show

Throughout the summer season Norfolk hosts a number of shows that are perfect for dogs, including events at Holkham including the Holkham County Fair and the North Norfolk food and Drink Festival.  There is also the Sandringham Game and Country Fair and a number of summer fun Dog shows.

Sandringham Country Park

The Royal Sandringham Estate is not far from Cranmer and is one of the best dog walking sites in the country with miles of forest walks, picnic areas, cafes, ponds… all ideal for a doggy with plenty of energy!
